Biomedical Sciences provides a broad based education in biomedical science with a particular emphasis on vocational training. It is underpinned by a wide variety of teaching and learning methods delivered in modern very well-equipped facilities. Graduates are involved in diagnosing and treating diseases, research into how diseases develop and investigating how particular chemicals can enhance healing. The programmes are aimed at developing a multitude of skills. These range from verbal and written communication skills to research methodology and highly specialised scientific skills.
Laboratories are well equipped so that students gain experience of a wide range of state-of-the-art instruments before joining the workplace. Some £1.2million has been spent on additional specialist equipment over the last four years.
