Students are given a choice of areas in which to specialise in including marketing, retail, management, enterprise, human resource management, finance and operation management. Courses are focused on showing you how to become an effective manager. It is possible to choose to opt for a specialist area of business or remain flexible within the generic route. The course is designed to introduce the foundations of business knowledge; including the principles of accounting, world economy, management, business law as well as developing practical business skills. After such skills are gained the second year is focused on developing a strategic understanding of business by studying specialist modules, before a final year dissertation. The course provides programmes that combine academic rigour with practical, vocational, and transferable skills. This develops the core academic skills of independent learning, critical thinking, problem solving, and communication. You will also gain a wide range of vocational skills, such as team working, report writing and presentation delivery.
Study is at the award winning St Peters campus with access to over 500 PC’s, state-of-the-art equipment and workstations. The School has excellent links with local businesses and often guest speakers present.
