Clubbing in Sunderland has definitely improved in the last few years, particularly in regards to student-friendliness. Monday and Thursday nights tend to be the most popular student nights, as well as Saturdays. Indie clubs are well established with Independent and the perennial Ku Club. Diva is a popular Student hangout, particularly on a Thursday. The recently built Point club complex is one of the biggest in Britain, with very late night clubbing available.
Live music is often a feature at Independent and the Manor Quay, with some top bands touring. The Manor Quay is the university’s nightclub and is popular and cheap throughout the week.
