Religious studies is focused mainly on the study of Buddhism at Sunderland University with the programme leader being an internationally renowned scholar in the subject. The programme uses web based materials, specified reading and electronic interaction on a group and individual basis. This course is also available on a part-time basis throughout the world on the University’s Electronic Virtual Learning Environment.
The teaching and learning facilities for Religious Studies at Sunderland are excellent, with most teaching taking place in the newly-refurbished Priestman Building. The library has a wide range of texts and journals, as well as database and electronic research information. There is also 24-hour access to award-winning computing facilities.
